Jul. 17th, 2003 03:38 pmA productive day, but I also know that things are going to get a whole lot busier before too long - 3 big e-commerce jobs coming down the pipe, a couple of decent sized jobs in progress, and some miscellaneous work just over the horizon. Of course, the usual maintenance work will be there too, so work's going to be crazy before too long. Hopefully crazy enough that we can hire a third developer again. That would be nice.
To add to the fun, MoDOT shut down my main ramp onto I-70, the highway that takes me straight from downtown to the exit a couple of miles from our apartment. The drive into work is still easy, but I'm still trying to figure out a good alternate route to get home. Tried one that I thought would be easy, and it took me 15 minutes to get out of downtown thanks to bottlenecks -- not only did they close my ramp, but they've also cut down the number of lanes on the I-35/I-70 loop. Throw in an accident later on I-70 that had a lane closed off, and it took me an hour to get home. Always fun in 95+ degree temperatures.
But forget about the bad news. The good news is, tomorrow I'll have the money to upgrade my computer. Yes, tomorrow I'll be able to start ordering the parts, and there will be much techno-joy!
