Finally, a chance to update...
Mar. 11th, 2003 03:51 pmOh, what a busy day Sunday was. Had to work from home this weekend thanks to our lack of 'net connectivity at work delaying a project for three days... only to find out it had to roll it live on Monday morning. So, who could work on it?
My boss had his kids for the weekend, so he was out.
Ben, my co-worker, was at a funeral last weekend, so he was out.
I was the lone developer remaining.
So Saturday, I had maybe an hour's worth of work on a small list of revisions. "That's not so bad," I thought. Then I checked the list again that night, and every page had been updated. I ended up doing about 5 hours of work after church on Sunday.
Then we did our C.S.Lewis group with Garrett and Ashley, after which we introduced them to DDR... and there was much rejoicing and fun had. We got home around 11 PM... and there was a message on the answering machine from my boss. There were more revisions needed, he was told.
So two more hours of work, and I called it a night (even though it was technically a morning by that point.) I was exhausted, and I didn't even get to sleep well - I woke up around 4:30 AM with a bad coughing/vurping fit due to drainage, which pretty much obliterated the three hours of sleep I'd accrued.
30 minutes more work on Monday morning before getting to the office, all of this on 3 hours of useful rest. I didn't even finish the workday. I went home at noon, because I was utterly exhausted. Even with 4 more hours of sleep during the day, I didn't get my full equilibrium back until this morning.
Of course, now the day is slow... and relaxing... and the weather is nice... and I think I might leave a bit early, if I can. It's been a good day - got to freak out my boss with my new haircut, since he was on-site yesterday. He actually did a double-take. :)
