Merry Christmas, everyone!!

The Christmas Eve services went well, despite the fact that we were making up our lighting plans as we went along. Nothing like having a third again as many lights as normal, not enough color gels to go around, borrowed lighting cords, and almost not enough power to run the whole thing without blowing a breaker. Further proof that God loves a good miracle. :)

Been playing more of Mario Sunshine, and I continue to be dazzled by the graphics and gameplay. It's odd; After choosing the Path of the Playstation because of Final Fantasy 7, Z and I had pretty much turned our backs on Nintendo, especially considering how bad (in our opinion, anyway) the Nintendo 64 was. With FF10 on the PS2, we once again thought that Sony would be providing for all our gaming needs... and then Square and Nintendo had to make up and announce FF: Crystal Chronicles for the Gamecube only. Curse you, Square-Enix!! :)

But hey, now we can partake of the goodness that is Metroid Prime, and we'll also have access to the new Zelda game, the new Mega Man game, and some other classic properties given new life on the GC.

However, don't expect me to be getting the Halo TV Adapter (the X-Box, for those not in the now) any time soon. :)

The other thing about playing Mario Sunshine that I've discovered is a strong nostalia value, and not just because it's a Mario game. See, my grandmother on my mom's side got hooked on Nintendo gaming, and she was a natural. She'd help me find all the secrets and show me all the tricks on the original Super Mario Bros., and playing this again -- the first time I've played a Mario game on a non-emulated console just then -- brings back all kinds of happy memories.
