The trip to St. Louis was uneventful, but not boring; talking politics, religion, and computers with Dad kept my mind from going. Beisdes, I was sitting next to my Z, so all was good. Z's mom is looking as well as can be expected; some bruising around the neck from the surgeries, and 2 electrodes connected to her neck to power the muscle stimulator, but otherwise she looked fine. Of course, she's also coping with pneumonia, so looks can be deceiving. Anyway, Z's there to look after her, do laundry for her, cook for her, etc., etc., so she's in good hands. She may be able to return to work in as soon as a week, but I'm sure she'll still need Z's help for at least a week past that.

But anyway, got back home around 8 PM, and the apartment is very still. If I don't have music on, it's just too quiet. There's no dog to bark at me, and no wife to share my thoughts with. It's odd, to be sure. I'm coping, though. Staying busy on the computer. Tomorrow, I'll hang with Dennis, Dan, and Mark, so that will keep things from being too boring. I think that over the next week or so, I've got enough that I can do, and enough people to see, that I won't suffer horribly from boredom.

The bed's going to seem awfully empty, though... good thing I've got a body pillow to cling to, though it's hardly the same.
