Ugh... I hate this hot-sweats-to-cold-and-clammy feeling that the flu's putting me through. It's annoying.

Anyway, I've been working on getting my MasterCard paid off for the last few months, since we've finally rebounded from the money crunch of last fall/winter. In April, I paid off $400 (about 10%) of it thanks to our tax return, and I've been making the minimum payment, or slightly above that, ever since. My credit limit still shows as $4200, but I've had no credit available.

So today, I called Citibank. Turns out that they closed the account in January for non-payment. Never informed me of this fact. Or maybe they did and I just missed it.

Oy. They asked me if I wanted to request that the card be reinstated, but no, that's okay. No need to build extra debt. So I keep paying the bills and getting that balance down, hoping to pay it off one day. Perhaps I should look at getting a debt consolidation loan from Commerce Bank. With that, I could pay off those dead accounts and pay off with a lower interest rate, which would be good. Faster debt reduction that way, especially once the car is paid off in November.

I think I will do that. Go out to Commerce and talk to them some time this week, that is. Funny thing is, I'm not upset or indignant. I'm just fine with it, really. No need for me to put myself in the poorhouse even further.
