Just got back from the 12:01 showing of Attack of the Clones, after a 3-hour wait in line with other geeks from the Tri-burb area.

And I can honestly say that it was worth it.

Think of the movie what you will - my dad didn't like it - but it had everything I was hoping for: action, adventure, mystery, inner struggle, foreshadowing of the future we know, some actual character development, and not nearly as much wooden dialogue as I feared. The lightsaber fights were fun to watch, there was some tense action, and some actual witty dialogue. Comic relief that doesn't involve Jar-Jar, too!

One of the best parts of the film, and the one my dad disliked the most... well, I won't totally give it away. That would be cruel. I'll just leave it in 4 words (which, unfortunately, aren't mine. Saw them in a review a few days ago and they came back to mind when I saw it.)

Crouching Yoda, Hidden Muppet.

My opinion? Perhaps not the best of the 5 films - it's hard to top the first 2 films - but I'd put it on par with Return of the Jedi, if not a bit higher. A definite improvement over Phantom Menace.

I have been enlightened. I have found the wonderful Acts of Gord, wherein are described the trials and tribulations of the One True Gord, Patron Saint of Game Systems.

It's like if Seth ran a game rental/sales place! Whee!
