No grillin' for us.
Mar. 28th, 2002 08:54 pmWell, apparently there's a clause in the rules and regulations based on a law passed in July 2001 (3 months before we moved in) that prohibits using grills within 10 ft of a combustible building (other than 1- and 2-family residences), and prohibits even storing a gas grill within 10 ft of one. They're just now enforcing this rule complex-wide. So, to avoid a nasty $500 fine, I've removed the gas tank from my grill and stored it away from the grill, bought a cover for the grill (as any uncovered grill is considered to be "in use"), and have asked Dad to take it for the duration we're here. This sucks, since it was a housewarming present for moving here. We didn't realize it was against the rules, as several other residents had them. I guess the Fire Department called the complex on it when they went to put out that fire several weeks ago.
Oh well. Better this than forking over $500.
