What am I thankful for? What am I really the most thankful for? Am I thankful for my job? Oh, definitely. Our apartment? Of course. Our computer, and all our other electronics? Without a doubt. Honestly, though, all these things are secondary - even the job - because they're not the things that make life better. They bring us temporary enjoyment, but they alone don't make life worth living.

Friends do.

So, without much ado, here's my list of friends that I'm thankful for:

Seth - For his sarcastic wit, for inviting us over to his place and reminding us not to be such hermits, for looking after my L5R cards and knowing I'd be back in the fold, and for putting up with my past antisocial and moody phases without ninja-bitch-kicking me across A to Z

Kim - For lending me Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, for talking with me on IRC when I'm at work, and for time and again trying to get it through Z's head that she's a great artist

Dan - For taking off our late fees at Blockbuster from time to time, for somehow being high energy and laid back at the same time, for teaching me DDR, and for being the best little-brother-who's-not-really-related-to-me that I could have

Dennis - For being the hardest person to shop for, for sparing no expense when it comes to finding something that everyone can enjoy, and for being the wacky weirdo he is

Maggie - For lending us yet more Harry Potter books, for having the most questionable (but entertaining) sense of fashion and decor, for being our glimpse into the world of the coffee-and-book-shop artiste, and for being our own personal Delirium

Aaron - For being the world's angriest Jew, for being infinitely approachable both online and in real life, for being the only person to ask Z to draw a Yoritomoogle, and for putting up with the Phoenix list for months without combusting

These are the things that I'm thankful for.

We have a new DVD player!!! And it's not even the cheap one that K-Mart was selling!!

*rolls around on the floor happily*

I won't go into the disappointment that was Thanksgiving shopping at K-Mart. I didn't know people really made lines to get into a store, nor did I imagine what a shopping frenzy was really like. It was very eye-opening, seeing some of the worst of humanity at the beginning of a season that represents the best of humanity. That's an experience I don't soon plan to repeat.

But anyway, Mom and Dad got us a new DVD player today as an early Christmas present!! They didn't have to do that!! Oh, I'm still giddy about it! And it's a NICE one, too!! I can't wait to try out all the features.

*catches breath, calms down*

I can't wait to get Z's new coat out of layaway at Hot Topic, too. It looks so awesome on her. And I can't wait to play more DDR - Mom and Dad saw it for the first time today, and they were so impressed that they said that if Seth and Kim do get us DDR for Christmas, that they'll spring for the second dance pad. Yet another WHEEEEEE!!

I'm paring down my list too. I'm dropping Guilty Gear X and Halflife from the list. MGS2 and Capcom vs. SNK 2 are MORE than enough to entertain me. :)

Now, though, the hard part -- shopping for everyone else. We've got Dan's, Dennis's, and Maggie's gifts pretty much figured out, but we can't think of a thing to get for Seth and Kim... do we do a gift for both of them, or individual gifts for each of them? And what do they want? Think, brain, think!! And we have yet to shop for Mom and Dad. Oy oy oy. And Ashley and Garrett too. So much to do, so little time and money. Oh well... we'll figure something out. :)

32 days 'til Christmas, everybody! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!

"If God came down on Christmas Day,
I know exactly what he'd say.
He'd say 'Oi!' to the punks,
And 'Oi!' to the skins,
But 'Oi!' to the world, and everybody wins."

My turn! My turn!

I am 53% ADDICTED TO THE INTERNET.

I am pretty addicted, but there is hope. I think I'm just well connected to the internet and technology, but it's really a start of a drug-like addiction. I must act now! Unplug this computer!
