Am I the only one who doesn't seem to suffer major soap operas?

Bear with me here. I'm not trying to insult anyone, really. Maybe "soap opera" is a bad term. "High drama" is better, I think. You know, that kind of set of life events where there's a lot of emotions and angst and deep introspection and extrospection involved... but it's not "melodrama", because it's not just histrionics, but actually some deep shit going on. So I'm not really cutting anyone down; I'm just saying their lives seem a lot more eventful than mine.

I guess I became aware of this from reading friends' LiveJournals, and then their friends' LiveJournals, and so on and so forth... so it's been a viral infection of enlightenment, really. And I'm not really saying such high drama is bad, per sé. I'm just finding it rather remarkable that I don't seem to have any of it in my life.

I mean, is my life that simple, pleasant, and/or boring that nothing like this happens?

Okay, I'm being less than honest here. I've had high drama in my life before. Hell, I've had melodrama in my life before. But it always resolved itself rather quickly. I just seem amazed by the ongoing antics I read about, and people going around each other in circles as relationships and such twist and twirl in the wind of life.

Not that I want high drama, mind you. I'm happy with what I have. I've got a loving wife, a pair of loving parents, loving friends, and a loving (if loud and slobbery) dog. I'm just curious, am I lucky to not have high drama right now, or am I just waiting my turn?

Arrr! I'm a pirate! Arrr!

Okay, now that that's out of my system... back to my regularly-scheduled life. :)
