Every now and again, something in this world threatens to shake my belief in a just and loving God.

For those of you who want the skinny without clicking the link, 4Kids Entertainment just licensed One Piece, and are planning on showing it on Fox this fall. I can only imagine how they're going to mangle this series beyond recognition.

Ok, I think I'm going to go cry now.

I know we were just playing Devil's Advocate on Funimation's behalf for FMA and it's gotta look weird getting our hackles up over 4kids and One Piece, but geebus, they legitimately screw over everything in their grasp.

Good to have the series on the air, but very bad to have them constantly bastardized.

I could hope they'll go gentle on it, but I have a feeling they won't. :/

Good for the recognition and airing, badbadbad for the future of the series in the states. *joins Dan with the crying*

Though I *HAVE* heard that Funimation has gotten unedited episodes of Shaman King and Yu-gi-oh so maybe they'll follow suit and get One Piece and give it a more proper (though probably not -great-) release someday. *crosses fingers*

I think I will now eat a devil's fruit and jump into the ocean.
