As I was driving into work, the sky above me was completely overcast, but I could see a break in the clouds to the west... and as I crested a hill, I could see downtown Kansas City in the distance. The surrounding area was gloomy and grey, but downtown itself was bright and sunlit, like a circle of white and grey monoliths bathed in warm white light. Definitely made for an interesting vista.
